Get the skinny on a beautiful and healthy yard

If you’re wondering why your neighbor has a nicer yard or garden than you do, they might have a dark little secret. Compost. That’s right. But, if you’re like me, you might not know how to get it, much less make it. We’re in luck. The city of Columbia is hosting a compost workshop this Spring where you can get everything you need to know about compost. And, the best part, it’s free. Check out the compost schedule below:

Tuesday, April 21st at 6:30 p.m.
Saturdays, May 23rd and June 13th at 10 a.m.

The Compost Workshops will be held at the Capen Park compost demonstration site, just off of Rock Quarry Road.

If you find that you don’t have the time or space to do it yourself, you can stop by Columbia’s compost facility at 5700 Peabody Road, on Wednesdays from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. (also available some Saturdays), where you can purchase it in bulk.

Compost is sold in bulk quantities for $12, plus tax, per cubic yard with a minimum $12 fee, plus tax. For more information, visit GoColumbiaMo.com.
